Exmouth is a small town at the tip of the North West Cape peninsula, positioned between the Ningaloo Reef on the west coast and the Cape Range National Park gorges to the east. The Ningaloo Coast World Heritage Area encompasses one of the world's largest fringing reefs, accessible directly from the beach without a boat, along with regular encounters with whale sharks between March and July. Turquoise Bay within the Cape Range park is noted for its coral gardens and drift snorkelling.
