Margaret River is a small town at the heart of the southwest corner of Western Australia, surrounded by a wine region that produces internationally regarded Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The surrounding coast contains some of Australia's most consistent surf breaks, while limestone karst beneath the jarrah and marri forest has produced extensive cave systems including Mammoth Cave and Lake Cave. The region is also noted for its artisan food producers and old-growth forest reserves.
