El Nido is a municipality at the northern tip of Palawan island, renowned for the dramatic karst limestone cliffs that enclose a series of enclosed lagoons, secret beaches, and snorkelling coves within the Bacuit Archipelago. The Small Lagoon and Big Lagoon tours are among the most photographed scenes in the Philippines, with turquoise water enclosed by near-vertical rock walls draped in vegetation. The area forms part of the Palawan Biosphere Reserve and the El Nido-Taytay Managed Resource Protected Area.
