Redang Island is one of the larger islands in the marine park off Terengganu's coast, known for its crystalline waters and extensive coral gardens that begin just metres from the shore. Pasir Panjang beach on the western side is considered among the most beautiful beaches in Peninsular Malaysia, its shallow turquoise bay ringed by casuarina trees. The island gains considerable cultural recognition as the setting of the Malaysian film 'Summer Holiday'.
