An archipelago of 99 islands off the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia, Langkawi is a duty-free zone fringed by white-sand beaches and backed by ancient rainforest. The Machinchang Cambrian Geoforest Park preserves some of the oldest exposed rock formations in Southeast Asia. The Sky Bridge, suspended above a cloud-level ridge, offers panoramic views across the Andaman Sea to Thailand.
