Krabi Town is the provincial capital of Krabi Province, situated at the mouth of the Krabi River on the Andaman coast. While not itself a beach destination, it serves as the transport hub for access to Railay, the Phi Phi Islands, Ko Lanta, and the Trang Islands. The town's night market, mangrove-fringed waterfront, and hill viewpoint at Khao Kanab Nam — two limestone towers rising from the river mouth — give it a character distinct from surrounding resort areas. Tiger Cave Temple, set in a forest park a few kilometres from town, offers a 1,237-step climb to a summit viewpoint.
