Ko Kut is the fourth-largest island in Thailand, situated in the southeastern Gulf of Thailand close to the Cambodian maritime boundary and accessible by ferry from Trat. Development has proceeded slowly compared to Ko Chang and Ko Mak, leaving the island with clean rivers, unspoiled mangroves, and beaches less subject to resort construction. Khlong Chao Waterfall empties into a freshwater river that can be followed on foot through jungle to the falls. The absence of an airport and the longer boat journey contribute to a comparatively quieter visitor profile.
