The Surin Islands are a group of five islands protected within Mu Ko Surin National Park, located 60 kilometres off the Phang Nga coast close to the Myanmar border. The surrounding waters are among the healthiest coral reef environments in the Andaman Sea and support large populations of reef fish, manta rays, and sea turtles. The islands are home to a community of Moken sea nomads who have lived in the area for generations. The park is accessible only during the dry season, between October and May.
