The largest Buddhist monastery complex in Taiwan and the headquarters of the Fo Guang Shan order, this monastery near Dashu District contains a main Buddha memorial hall, temples, gardens, and a museum spanning a 100-hectare hillside site. A 36-metre standing Buddha figure on the hillside and an extensive colonnaded courtyard of smaller devotional figures create a striking monumental landscape accessible to all visitors.
