A small volcanic island 33 kilometres off the Taitung coast, Lüdao (Green Island) is known for its marine environments — coral reefs circling the island provide some of Taiwan's most accessible scuba diving and snorkelling — and for two of the world's few saltwater hot springs that flow directly at the sea's edge at Zhaori. A 17-kilometre coastal road circles the island and can be completed by bicycle in a half-day.
