The largest island in Hong Kong, Lantau combines the Tian Tan Giant Buddha and Po Lin Monastery complex on a plateau at 460 metres with the natural trail network of the Lantau Trail running across its ridges. The Ngong Ping 360 cable car crosses the northern hills from Tung Chung. The Tai O fishing village on the western coast preserves traditional stilt-house fishing settlement architecture.
