Khaptad National Park is a highland plateau reserve in far-western Nepal, protecting an undulating grassland and sub-alpine ecosystem between 1,400 and 3,300 metres in the Karnali zone. The park is unusual within Nepal for its open, rolling meadow landscape rather than the high-altitude rocky terrain of the major Himalayan parks. Medicinal herbs and wildflowers are abundant, and wildlife includes leopard, Himalayan black bear, and diverse bird species. The area holds Hindu religious significance centred on the Khaptad Swami ashram.
