Mount Sanqingshan National Park

Granite pillars that suggest people and animals frozen mid-stride have made Mount Sanqingshan one of China's most arresting landscapes: 48 peaks and 89 pillars concentrated in 22,950 hectares of north-east Jiangxi. Clouds pour between the towers, throwing bright halos and white rainbows, while temperate forest, springs and waterfalls up to 60 metres fill the spaces between the stone. UNESCO inscribed the national park in 2008 for scenery of exceptional quality.
