Blue Lagoon National Park on the Kafue Flats west of Lusaka protects seasonal floodplain habitat on the Kafue River, where the endemic Kafue lechwe antelope aggregates in large herds during the dry season. The wide, flat floodplain landscape and the reflections of the sky in shallow water pools create distinctive photographic conditions. The park is among Zambia's smaller and less visited reserves but offers an accessible wildlife experience close to the capital.
