Chobe National Park in northern Botswana holds the highest density of African elephants on earth, with populations of 50,000 or more moving between the floodplains and the Chobe River. Afternoon game drives along the river bank and sunset boat cruises provide close encounters with elephants swimming and drinking at the water's edge. The Savuti marsh section supports large lion and hyena clans and exceptional wild dog populations.
