The semi-arid coastal plain of Namaqualand in the Northern Cape transforms each spring into one of the world's great wildflower spectacles, with carpets of orange, yellow, and white daisies and gazanias stretching across the landscape for hundreds of kilometres. The Goegap Nature Reserve near Springbok is a reliable focal point for the display. The blooms track the rainfall and typically peak between late July and mid-September.
