Mgahinga is Uganda's smallest national park, occupying the Ugandan slopes of the Virunga volcano chain shared with Rwanda and the DRC. It shelters a habituated mountain gorilla group and the only golden monkey trekking experience in Uganda, both accessible from the park headquarters on Ntebeko Hill. Three extinct volcanoes — Gahinga, Muhavura, and Sabinyo — rise above the park boundary and offer day hikes with summit views extending across three countries on clear mornings.
