A heritage village perched on a rocky hillside in the Tihama escarpment of the Asir region, Rijal Almaa is remarkable for its multi-storey stone tower houses decorated with colourful bands of quartz crystals embedded in the masonry. The village served as a trading post and gateway between the coastal Tihama plain and the highland interior, and its architecture blends Yemeni and Asiri traditions. A local heritage museum occupies one of the larger tower houses, preserving traditional tools, weapons, and costumes.
