Hatta

An exclave of Dubai nestled within the Hajar Mountains, Hatta offers a sharply different landscape to the coastal emirate — rocky gorges, turquoise pools, and terraced mountain villages made of stone and mud brick. The Hatta Dam reservoir reflects the surrounding ridges and is popular for kayaking. A heritage village at the foot of a restored eighteenth-century fort preserves traditional Emirati mountain architecture.
