A narrow slot canyon carved by the Todra River through the High Atlas foothills near the town of Tinghir. At its deepest point, sheer limestone walls rise roughly 300 metres while the canyon floor narrows to about ten metres, creating a dramatic passage of cool shade even in summer heat. Rock climbers from across Europe travel to work the vertical faces, while hikers follow the river upstream through widening palm groves into the mountains. Afternoon light striking the canyon walls produces vivid warm tones.
