Zheravna is a well-preserved National Revival village in the Balkan Mountains of eastern Bulgaria, its cobbled main street lined with stone-paved yards, water mills, and timber-frame houses built in the 17th through 19th centuries. The village's distinctively steep-roofed houses with their wide overhanging eaves are largely intact and function as a living architectural reserve rather than a museum set-piece. The surrounding beech forest provides striking autumn foliage throughout October.
