Trigrad Gorge is a steep limestone canyon in the Western Rhodopes carved by the Trigrad River, with walls rising 300 metres in the narrowest section. The river disappears underground at the Devil's Throat Cave, a cathedral-sized cavern where it falls 42 metres into a chamber before re-emerging 330 metres away. The gorge road passes through tunnels blasted through rock outcrops and offers stopping points directly above the vertical walls.
