Tatra National Park protects the highest segment of the Carpathian range in Poland, encompassing jagged granite peaks, deep glacial valleys, and dense spruce forests. Rysy, the highest point in Poland at 2,499 metres, lies within the park and draws serious hikers through demanding terrain. The Dolina Pięciu Stawów Polskich valley — the Valley of the Five Polish Lakes — offers a concentrated circuit of glacial lakes rarely matched elsewhere in Central Europe.
