Morskie Oko is the largest and most celebrated glacial lake in the Polish Tatra Mountains, lying at 1,395 metres above sea level beneath the sheer north face of Rysy. The deep-blue water reflects surrounding granite walls and snowfields well into summer. A well-maintained trail from Palenica Białczańska makes it reachable on foot, though horse-drawn carriages also serve the approach road.
