The Glacier Express is a panoramic rail service connecting Zermatt and St. Moritz over 290 kilometres through the central Swiss Alps, crossing 291 bridges and passing through 91 tunnels. The route traverses the Furka and Oberalp passes and the Rhine Gorge, moving through four distinct Alpine regions in approximately eight hours. The service is marketed as the world's slowest express train, and its tilted wine glasses on the dining car are a running joke among passengers.
