Perched on an isolated 855-metre peak in the Swabian Alb, Hohenzollern Castle is the ancestral seat of the House of Hohenzollern, the dynasty that produced the kings of Prussia and German emperors. The current structure is a 19th-century Neo-Gothic reconstruction that replaced two earlier fortifications. The summit position allows sweeping views across the Swabian highlands and, on clear days, south to the Alps.
