The Valbona Valley is a glacially shaped valley in the Accursed Mountains of northern Albania, its floor flat and broad beneath walls of bare limestone that reach above 2,600 metres. The Valbona River runs crystal-clear through the valley bottom, and the village of Valbona at its head is the starting point for trails into the surrounding high terrain. The landscape has attracted increasing numbers of trekkers following the opening of the Albanian Alps to international visitors in the 2010s.
