Bosa is a small medieval town on the western coast of Sardinia at the mouth of the Temo River, the island's only navigable waterway, with a cluster of colorful medieval houses climbing a hillside below a Norman-era castle. The old tanneries along the riverbank, Sa Costa, have been converted to a pedestrian district whose painted facades reflect in the still water below the walls. The coastal road south to Oristano, the Strada Costiera SS292, is considered one of the most scenic coastal drives in Sardinia.
