A cluster of seven main islands and numerous smaller islets off the northeastern tip of Sardinia, the La Maddalena Archipelago is a protected marine national park renowned for crystalline shallow water ranging from deep cobalt to near-transparent turquoise. Pink granite boulders smoothed by millennia of wind and water frame beaches of white quartz sand, most of which are reachable only by boat. The waters around Spargi and Budelli host some of the finest snorkeling in the Mediterranean.
