On the Ligurian Riviera di Levante, Camogli is a working fishing port whose tall, narrow house facades—painted in trompe-l'oeil patterns of vivid yellow and coral—rise vertically from the harbour edge. The beach below the medieval castle is of smooth dark pebbles backed by the painted buildings, creating a distinctive tonal contrast. A ferry service connects the village to Portofino and the abbey of San Fruttuoso.
