Lake Garda

The largest lake in Italy, spanning the provinces of Brescia, Verona, and Trento, Lake Garda transitions from the alpine north—where the Sarca river delta and the Ledro mountains create a dramatic fjord-like setting—to the more Mediterranean southern shores with olive groves and lemon terraces. The northern town of Riva del Garda is a windsurfing hub, while the southern Brescian Riviera and Sirmione peninsula draw families and cultural visitors.
