Cala Galdana is a large horseshoe cove on the southern coast of Menorca, sheltered by pine-covered limestone cliffs and bisected by the Algendar Gorge where a river drains into the sea. The beach is one of the most organised and developed on Menorca's south coast, with a small resort and facilities, while the gorge behind the beach provides a walking route into protected agricultural interior terrain. The symmetry of the cove, framed by equal limestone headlands, makes it one of the most classically composed bays in the Balearics.
