Cap de Formentor is the dramatic northern headland of Mallorca, a long narrow peninsula of limestone peaks and pine-clad slopes that terminates at a lighthouse above 200-metre cliffs. The winding road to the lighthouse passes the Mirador del Mal Pas and several other viewpoints overlooking the Bay of Pollença and the open Mediterranean. The interplay of sharp ridges, deep blue sea, and twisted Aleppo pines has made the cape one of the most photographed landscapes in the Balearics.
