Cala d'Or is a resort town on the southeastern coast of Mallorca built around a series of small protected inlets carved into the limestone coastline. The architecture follows an unusual unified whitewashed Ibizan-inspired aesthetic established in the 1930s by the developer Josep Costa Ferrer, giving the resort a more coherent visual character than most Mallorcan developments. Several of the inlets have calm, clear water well suited to snorkelling and families with young children.
