Roque Nublo is a volcanic monolith standing approximately 80 metres tall at an elevation of 1,813 metres in the central highlands of Gran Canaria, making it one of the largest natural monoliths in the world. The rock and the adjacent smaller formation known as El Fraile are remnants of an ancient volcanic plug eroded free from surrounding softer material. On clear days the summit plateau offers panoramic views across Gran Canaria and west toward Teide on Tenerife.
