Sierra Nevada encompasses the highest mountains on the Iberian Peninsula, with Mulhacén rising to 3,479 metres above sea level in Granada province. The park supports extraordinary botanical diversity, including many endemic plant species at altitude, while its lower slopes host ski infrastructure at Pradollano — the most southerly ski resort in Europe. Summer trekking routes along the Integral de los Tres Mil connect the highest summits.
