A sixteenth-century château most celebrated for its extraordinary Renaissance gardens, arranged in three formal terraces descending from the manor house. The potager — a vast ornamental kitchen garden divided into nine geometric squares — is planted twice yearly in seasonal vegetables and flowers creating intricate colour patterns. The water garden and maze garden on the upper terraces complete one of Europe's most complete formal Renaissance garden designs.
