Often described as one of the prettiest villages in England, Castle Combe sits in a narrow valley in the Cotswold fringe of northern Wiltshire. Honey-coloured limestone cottages line the stream below a pinnacled market cross, and the village has remained largely unaltered since the wool trade that built it declined in the seventeenth century. The market cross and tithe barn are favourite focal points for photographers working in soft morning light.
