Gotland

Sweden's largest island rises from the Baltic Sea with a distinctive character shaped by its limestone bedrock: sea-stack formations called raukar line the coasts, medieval churches dot the countryside, and the walled medieval town of Visby anchors the island's western shore. The interior offers flat cycling terrain through wildflower meadows, while the eastern coast has fine sandy beaches warmed by the Baltic's shallow waters.
