Hvítserkur is a 15-metre tall basalt rock stack on the eastern shore of the Vatnsnes Peninsula, eroded by the sea into an angular silhouette that resembles a drinking creature. At low tide the base is accessible from the beach and the rock can be circumnavigated. The site is photographed most dramatically around sunset when the low northern sun silhouettes the stack against the sky and sea.
