Fjaðrárgljúfur is a winding canyon roughly 100 metres deep and two kilometres long in southern Iceland, carved by glacial meltwater through basalt and palagonite tuff. The canyon walls display layered geology and support dense moss and herb vegetation, and a trail along the rim provides elevated views of the serpentine river below. The site experienced a surge in visitor numbers following its feature in popular media and now has managed access controls.
