The Teatro del Lago sits on the shore of Lake Llanquihue in the town of Frutillar in southern Chile, a striking modern theatre completed in 2010 with views across the water toward distant volcanoes. Built largely of timber to blend with its lakeside setting, it contains a large main hall with fine acoustics along with smaller spaces and a music school. It hosts an international classical music festival and a year-round programme of concerts, opera and dance.
