The Pitampura TV Tower, also called the Delhi TV Tower, is a broadcasting tower in the northwestern part of the capital, completed in 1988 and rising about 235 metres. For years one of the tallest structures in Delhi, its concrete shaft carries an observation gallery that once opened to the public with views across the sprawling city. The tower stands beside a district park and remains a recognisable feature of the skyline. It served as an important transmitter as television expanded across India in the late twentieth century.
