Forest Park is a large public park in St. Louis, larger than New York's Central Park, opened in 1876 on the western edge of the growing city. It hosted the 1904 World's Fair and Olympic Games, whose legacy includes the grand steps of Art Hill and several museum buildings. The park now holds a free art museum, a zoo, a science centre and a history museum among its lakes, lawns and golf courses. Restored wetlands and waterways wind through the grounds, drawing joggers, cyclists and families.
