Millennium Square is a large civic space in Leeds opened in 2000 beside the Victorian Town Hall and the city museum. Designed for events, it hosts open-air concerts, festivals, a winter ice rink and a big screen for public broadcasts. The square is bordered by the Civic Hall with its gilded owls, the Leeds City Museum and the Electric Press building. Its flexible paved expanse and stepped seating make it one of the busiest gathering points in the city centre throughout the changing seasons of the year.
