The Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque in Shah Alam, popularly known as the Blue Mosque, is the state mosque of Selangor and one of the largest in Southeast Asia. Completed in 1988, it is crowned by a vast blue-and-silver aluminium dome and framed by four minarets that rank among the tallest in the world. The prayer hall, decorated with blue stained glass and Quranic calligraphy, holds tens of thousands of worshippers. Set within landscaped gardens and lakes, it is a defining symbol of Selangor's capital.
