The Grand Jamia Mosque in the Bahria Town suburb of Lahore is one of the largest mosques in the world by capacity, completed in 2014. Its design fuses Mughal, Turkish and Persian influences, with a vast central dome, twenty smaller domes and four towering minarets clad in intricate tile and fresco work. The prayer halls and surrounding courtyards can accommodate hundreds of thousands of worshippers on major occasions. A museum and a library within the complex present Islamic history alongside the working mosque.
