This monumental promenade in southern Caracas commemorates the heroes of the wars of independence. Built in the 1950s, it stretches for hundreds of meters through landscaped terraces, reflecting pools and fountains, lined with statues and reliefs honoring the liberators. Two towering obelisks and grand staircases anchor the axis, conceived as a ceremonial parade ground for military and civic events. Designed on a grand modern scale, it blends monumental architecture with public space and remains a significant site of national commemoration.
