The Railway Museum in Livingstone documents the history of rail in Zambia, a network that opened up the mining regions and linked the country to its neighbours. Set near the historic line to the Victoria Falls bridge, it displays vintage steam locomotives, carriages, signalling equipment and photographs in a large indoor and outdoor space. Exhibits recount the railway's construction and its role in the colonial economy and the movement of people and goods. Some rolling stock can be explored up close.
