The Mutare Museum in eastern Zimbabwe is known for its collections of transport, antiquities and natural history near the Mozambique border. Its galleries display vintage vehicles, steam locomotives, carriages and aircraft, along with firearms and geological and zoological specimens. Ethnographic sections cover the customs and crafts of the region's peoples, and a garden of aloes surrounds the building. As one of the country's five national museums, it plays a role in research and conservation.
